Box Floor requirement for 2004-2014 Ford F-150 & 2007-2017 Toyota Tundra's

Basic drawing of a 2" raised bed platform used in the bed of F-150 2004-2014 and Tundra's 2007-2017

Box Floor

  • Applies to ALL 2004 - 2014 Ford F-150’s w/ the Steel Bed

  • 2007 - 2017 Toyota Tundra’s

Attached is a basic SolidWorks drawing of the 2” thick box floor we add to the camper base when putting a new FWC on either the 2004 - 2014 Ford F-150 trucks with the steel truck bed, or the 2007 - 2017 Toyota Tundra trucks.

When the customer has either of the trucks above, and the purchase agreement states that the customer owns one of these trucks above, we will build the camper to fit their truck better by adding a 2” box floor to the bottom of the camper as part of the build.

If you are selling a used camper, or maybe selling a stock showroom model to a customer and the camper was not built with the deeper truck bed camper base, you will most likely need to add something under the camper before putting the camper on to one of these trucks listed above due to the deeper bed.

This can be as simple as adding some additional wooden runners under the camper to match what FWC already installs there, a thick rubber bed mat, painted 2”x4”s, or you can build a complete base like we do. The most important part is that the modification looks good, works well, and the customer is happy with the final outcome.
